Prakash Jha JD (U) nominee from Paschim Champaram

Jagdishpur (W Champaran): The 'Rajneeti' he had abandoned for good after losing his second successive Lok Sabha election has now sucked filmmaker Prakash Jha back to its tantalizing 'Chakravyuh'. "My friend Prakash Jhaji," is how chief minister Nitish Kumar introduced the JD (U) candidate from the Paschim Champaran Lok Sabha constituency on the second day of his 'Sankalp Yatra' here on Thursday.

Nitish cautioned the people against who he said, without naming the BJP, were masters of rumour mongering. "They made Ganpati drink milk ... and recently, they tested their mongering machine by making salt disappear from the market within hours," he said, advising, "Aise chalak logon se saavdhan rahiye."

Wearing while cotton trousers and shirt under a dark waistcoat, the born again politician in dark glasses scanned the ground and the people. After all, political rallies like this have been part of his cinematic essays.

"Bahut din baad awey ke mauka milal baa (I've got the opportunity to return after a long time)," Jha addressed the modest crowd as he appealed for a shoulder to shoulder campaign to give Nitish Kumar large numbers in the 16th Lok Sabha. "Hum sab mil ke sangharsh karab," he said while imploring party workers to launch a door-to-door campaign in the constituency.

"Much work has been done (by Nitish) ... bahut prachar kareke naikhe (don't need to campaign much)," the filmmaker made it clear that Nitish Kumar's goodwill is his USP in this election. "I will visit each village in the next two months," he said.

Asked for making a U-turn on his vow not to contest elections after his 2009 defeat, Jha said, "There was a constant clamour from the people. Many came to Mumbai to meet me but I've finally agreed to the situation on Nitishji's persuasion," he said.
